George Harris was the only son of George and Elizabeth Harris of Droitwich. He lived at 28 Hill End. He was killed in action in Italy. He joined the Worcestershire Regiment in 1940 and later transferred to the Lancashire Regiment. He was involved in heavy fighting at Sangro River Crossing and Cassino. His father Private G. Harris was killed in WW1. George was a keen footballer and played for Droitwich F.C. He was employed at Hartlebury before the war.
