Horace Halford was born on 11th March 1887. In the Badsey parish magazine of April 1915 Private Horace Halford of Bower’s Hill is reported as wounded with no further particulars. In the July 1917 magazine he is officially reported as missing and the May 1918 magazine reports that there was a memorial service at Wickhamford on 1st April for Corporal Horace Halford who had been missing since 20th May 1917 and was now assumed to have been killed in action on that date.
