Born 18th June 1895 in Worcester, Worcestershire.  Naval casualties 1914 – 1919 record his next of kin as his mother, Sarah, Pound Cottage, Oldwood Road, Tenbury Wells, Worcestershire.  Body not recovered for burial.

HMS Brisk was a destroyer. On 2nd October 1917 she was part of an escort with convoy HH24 inbound from America.  The convoy came under attack by U79 several miles north west of Rathlin Island off the coast of County Antrim.  The ships scattered, some through Rathlin Sound and others in the North Channel.  HMS Brisk was making a follow up sweep of the ships in Rathlin Sound when she was hit amidships by a torpedo fired from U79.  The explosion broke the ship in two, the bow section sank immediately, the stern stayed afloat long enough to be towed to Londonderry.  Thirty one crew members lost their lives in the explosion.

Albert Grubb has no known grave, the photograph available shows his name on Plymouth Naval Memorial.
