The following report appears in the Kidderminster Shuttle, 11th November 1916:
Private Thomas Edward Griffin, 21039, 16th Battalion Worcestershire Regiment. Husband of Mrs E.S. Griffin, 36 Lax Lane, Bewdley. Son of Mrs Griffin, 15 Brook Street, Kidderminster. Died of wounds on 16th March 1917. He enlisted in January 1915 and went out to Dardanelles in August. He was taken ill with enteric fever, was invalided to England, and was home for Christmas. He went out again to France in January. Aged 33, married with one child and previous to joining the Army was employed at Spear and Jackson’s, Sheffield. A brother, Private J.G. Griffin is with the Worcesters, having joined 7th January, 1915 and served in the Dardanelles. He was invalided to England in June 1916.
