Further Information About GREY Robert
Robert Grey was born in 1915. He attended Malvern College in House 6 from 1928 to 1933.
On 4th October 1942 Robert Grey was the pilot of Mustang AM168. He was participating in a tank and troop exercise on training grounds with Mustang aircraft flying simulated attacks. During one such attack his aircraft was put into a vertical climb and disappeared in to the cloud. It re-appeared in a steep spin from which the pilot did not recover and struck the ground in the Preston Moor area, Grinton. It is thought the pilot may have blacked out as a result of the steep climb.
