Harry Gregory entered Evesham Boys National School from Infant School on 30th April 1899 when he was registered as Norman Gregory, his date of birth was registered as 16th March 1891 and his parent as Will Gregory of Greenhill. He left school on 31st May 1905 to take up employment as an Office Boy, for Messrs Smith & Sons. On the 1911 census he was a boarder aged 20 at the home of Joseph Hunt in Evesham and he was employed as a carpenter.
Harry Norman Gregory enlisted in the Canadian Overseas Expeditionary Force on 29th September 1915 at Vernon Camp, British Columbia. On his attestation form he gave his date of birth as 17th March 1881 (incorrect) at Evesham, Worcestershire, England, his next of kin as Mrs Fannie Gregory, Berrow Hill, Martley nr, Worcester, England and his occupation as a Carpenter. His next of kin was later amended to Mrs M. Gregory (wife), Adelphi P.O., Grand Prairie, B.C. Harry was 5 feet 3 inches tall with a fair complexion, grey eyes and brown hair.
On 22nd November 1915 Harry embarked on the H.M.T. Saxonia at Halifax, Canada, arriving at Plymouth, England on 1st December 1915. He was posted overseas on 13th August 1916 and disembarked at Havre, France, on 14th August 1916. He was seriously wounded on 17th April 1918 with a gunshot wound to his head; following emergency treatment at No 12 Field Ambulance he was admitted to 42 Casualty Clearing Station.

19th April 1918: Previously reported dangerously wounded now reported died of wounds, 42 C.C.S., GSW (gunshot wound) Head Skull Fracture.
