William Gough married Leonora Toms (born in Looe c1894) on 6th July 1915 at the Registry Office in Liskeard, Cornwall (GRO reference Sep 1915 Gough William, Toms Liskeard 5c 116). They met when the 13th Worcestershire Regiment were training in Looe, Cornwall.
They had one son together:
Vivian William Gough (known as Ian) who was born on 26th September 1915 in Cliftonville, Shutta Road, East Looe. (GRO ref Births Dec 1915, Gough, Vivian W, mother’s maiden name: Toms, Liskeard 5c 82). He went on to be a teacher and later a Headteacher. He fought in World War II and had 3 daughters.
