Malvern News, 9th September 1917:
Mr and Mrs Goodyear, late of Richmond Road, Malvern Link have received information that their son Gordon was killed on the 25th April. The following letter from his CO was received by his father: “It is with very much regret that I have to inform you that your son has been killed in action. He was a splendid fellow, brave, willing and in action as my runner, always performed his duties so well. We cannot afford to lose such fellows, but some of us must fall.”
William Gordon Goodyear has no known grave, the photograph available shows his name on Thiepval Memorial as W.G. Goodyear.
