The birth of Albert Mark Giles is registered in the June Quarter 1893 under the Pershore Registration District.
Gunner, 42nd Battalion Royal Field Artillery. Head St. Stray bomb amongst horses. Died April 1918 in France.

Sophia Giles died on the 4th November 1918 aged 64 and was buried in Pershore Cemetery.
Albert Giles enlisted as Private 106924 in the Royal Field Artillery, entering France on the 23rd March 1915. He was killed in action on the 21st March 1918, the first day of the German Spring Offensive against the allied troops. Albert has no known grave; he is commemorated on the Arras Memorial in France. After the war his family received his medals – the British War Medal, the Victory Medal and the 1914/1915 Star.
