Malvern News, Saturday 16th June 1917:
News has been received in Birmingham that Pte John Gardiner, Worcestershire Regiment whose home was at 4, Woodland Cottages, West Malvern, and was reported as a POW is now reported as having died on the 6th August 1915 or sometime later.  He has two other brothers serving in France.
