Arnold Fletcher attended Worcester Royal Grammar School from 1902 to 1905.  After leaving school he went to Trinity College, Dublin, graduating in 1909 in Civil Engineering. The Royal Society granted him 50 pounds to allow him to complete his research at RCS Dublin where he was working on radioactive materials.  In January 1911 his paper “The Radioactivity of Leinster Granite” was published in the Philosophical Magazine.
