Kenneth Fitch was born on 6th May 1911. He entered Form IIIb at Kings Norton Boys School on 9th September 1924 and left the school from Form IVa on 22nd July 1927. His home address on the school records was given as “Maismore”, Woodland Road, Northfield.
Kenneth Fitch was born in Surrey, England. He was captured by the Japanese and taken overland on 17th March 1943 to work first in Singapore followed by the Thailand end of the railway before being taken to Japan. He was designated to work V Battalion, D Force and then Japan. He died of Croup and pneumonia at F17B (Omuta) while a prisoner of the Japanese. He was cremated and his ashes were buried in Yokohama War Cemetery.
