The war memorial at St Matthew’s Church is badly weathered resulting in the loss of some of the lettering. In the case of this casualty the initial is completely illegible making research very difficult.

The following information has been researched by Andy Frisby and may relate to ‘unknown Facey’.

This must be service only. The only 2 candidates I can find are father and son residing at Blockhouse Street Worcester. If this is in the diocese of the church it could be right.

Private Sidney Albert Facey 3594/831387, Royal Field Artillery (son)

Neither of these soldiers were casualties: The death of William T. Facey aged 85 is registered in the June Quarter 1950 under the Worcester Registration District. The death of Sidney A. Facey aged 73 is registered in the September Quarter 1967 under the Worcester Registration District.
