Further Information About EVANS John Wilde

John Evans enlisted in the Canadian Overseas Expeditionary Force on 28th December 1915 at Granton, Ontario. On his attestation form he gave his date of birth as 2nd December 1888 at Suckley, Worcestershire, England, his address as RR No 2 Granton, Ontario, his next of kin as his mother, Mrs George Evans, New Cottage, Suckley, Worcestershire and his occupation as a farmer. He was 5 feet 8½ inches tall with brown eyes, black hair and a dark complexion.

John sailed from Halifax, Canada on the S.S. Olympic on 22nd August 1916 arriving in England on 30th August 1916. He proceeded overseas on 28th November 1916 and was killed in action on 11th April 1917.
