Harry Evans married Alice Mole in 1913. He was declared physically unfit for military service in April 1915. His death, aged 28, is registered in the June Quarter 1917 under the Cleobury Mortimer Registration District.
The grave of Harry Evans is located on the Western side of St Bartholomew’s Churchyard, Bayton. It is a conventional sandstone headstone with no mention of war service. His parents have graves alongside. His death certificate reveals that he died at Clows Top, aged 28, of tuberculosis which he had for 3 years.
