Further Information About EDWARDS Howard Joseph

Howard Edwards was born on 1st July 1897.  He entered Form III as a Day Scholar at King Edward VI Grammar School on 15th September 1910.  At the time of his admission to the school his father is recorded as M.H. Edwards, a Manager – Fire Brick Works and the family resided at Amblecote Farm, Brierley Hill.  Howard had previously been educated at Wordsley Council School (Elementary).  He left King Edward VI Grammar School from Form VI on 5th April 1913 and took employment as a Junior in the Civil Service.

From school war record booklet:
2nd Lieut 7th Battalion Worcestershire Regiment; wounded at Le Sars 7th October 1916; killed in action at Ypres 9th October 1917.

Howard Edwards has no known grave, the photograph available shows his name on Tyne Cot Memorial.
