Wilfred Diston was born at Hailes, Gloucestershire in 1891, the Son of Charles and Gertrude Diston, The Bevins, Hinton on the Green. Prior to enlistment he was employed as a farm labourer. Brother to Sidney Diston who was killed in action. Wilfred went to the Balkans on 19th June 1915. He was husband to Violet Diston nee Eddon who he married in the December Quarter 1920 in the Tewkesbury District.  Wilfred died in 1961, aged 69.
