Albert Henry Diston was born on 10th June 1895 at Oxenton, Gloucestershire, the son of Charles and Gertrude Diston, later of The Bevins, Hinton on the Green

Albert served as Private 11290, Gloucestershire Regiment, subsequently as Private 552635 Labour Corps. Prior to enlisting he was employed as a farm labourer. He went to the Balkans on 19th June 1915. His brother, Sidney Diston, was killed in action in France in November 1916. In the December Quarter 1920 Albert married Edith J. Millington in the Pershore Registration District. He died in 1983, aged 88.
