Further Information About DAY Gerald Harlow

Gerald was the second son of Ernest and Florence Day and he attended Worcester Royal Grammar School from 1909 to 1915. He was killed in Salonica during fighting near the Greek – Yugoslav border. The 7th Berkshires attacked the Jumeaux Ridge where they were opposed by Bulgarian Infantry, whose artillery was much stronger than expected. When the attack commenced the fierce opposing fire cut off the supporting Royal Berks from those in front ensuring they never reached them. Second Lieutenant Day appears to have been a casualty during this battle.
