Bromsgrove Droitwich and Redditch Messenger 23rd November 1918:
Death of an Alvechurch Soldier
Mrs Davis, Birmingham Road, Alvechurch has received information that her son Private Thomas Davis has died from bronchitis and pneumonia at the age of 35.  After joining the army the deceased was found unfit for foreign service and was sent to the Birmingham Gas Company to work.  Afterwards he was employed on the land.  Before enlistment he was a highly respected member of the Parish Church choir.  His youngest brother Harry has also served in France with the Gloucester Regiment and has been badly wounded.

Thomas Davi(e)s died at Cliveden Hospital, Taplow.  He was buried in Alvechurch St Laurence churchyard on 23rd November 1918 when his age was given as 34 years.
