Mrs Davis, 28, Windsor Street, Bromsgrove has received a letter from the Chaplain of the unit informing her that her brother, Private A Davis, Coldstream Guards, was killed in action on September 27th. The battalion was taking part in an attack and during the course of it Private Davis was killed instantaneously. The deceased, who was 40 years of age, was chauffeur and gardener to Dr Rowlands, with whom he had been for several years when he was called up in February of last year. He went on active service in December last. Private Davis leaves three motherless children the youngest of whom is eight years old.
