There is no entry on the Commonwealth War Graves Commission for this casualty as he died post war.

Sam Davies enlisted as a Driver with the Royal Army Service Corps, service no 02458, on 13th January 1915 at Aldershot. On his attestation form he gave his age as 38 years, his address as 2 Hartland Cottages, Lower Howsell, Malvern Link, Worcestershire, his occupation as a Groom and his next of kin as his wife Alice Maud Davies (nee Bond) of the same address. The couple had married in Malvern Link on 29th June 1902 and had 7 children. Two further children were born and added to his service record, a son on 27th May 1915 and another son on 9th June 1916. Sam Davies had previous military experience having served with the Royal Marine Light Infantry.

Sam Davies was demobilized and transferred to the Army Reserve on 17th February 1919. He died from a cerebral haemorrhage on 3rd April 1919. His death at the age of 43 is recorded in the June Quarter 1919 under the Upton Registration District.
