Daniel Corcoran was born in India in 1921 whilst his father was stationed there with the 1st Battalion Worcestershire Regiment. Known as ‘Korky’ whilst at school, he attended Worcester Royal Grammar School from 1933 to 1940. An outstanding scholar and athlete, he was one of a trio of talented rugby players and was in the school boxing final of 1939. He enlisted soon after the outbreak of war and was killed in action in the Middle East.
