Neville Cooper was born on 29th January 1894. He entered Form IV2 as a Day Scholar at King Edward VI Grammar School on 13th September 1909. At the time of his admission to the school his father is recorded as G.H. Cooper, a Joiner, and the family resided at Clent near Stourbridge. Neville had previously been educated at Clent School (Elementary). He left King Edward VI Grammar School from Form VIG on 24th December 1912 and took employment Elementary Teaching.
