Two more honours have been won by Witley men. Major Cyril Bartlett has received from the King the Military Cross and Private George Henderson Cook has been awarded the Military Medal.

George Henderson Cook M.M., Warwickshire Regiment has given his life in the recent fighting. He had gone through five day’s hard fighting, at one time surrounded by Germans, and had got back to comparative safety, when he was killed by a chance shell. He will be greatly missed and much sympathy is felt for his wife and family.
