Frederick Collier was born in 1890 and he attended Bromsgrove School from 1903 to 1906. Collier, who on leaving school, had served for a time with the Shropshire Light Infantry, was abroad when war broke out. He returned home and was gazetted to the Sherwood Foresters. He was directing the fire of his men in the course of taking a German trench, when he was hit by a rifle bullet and died instantly. He was 27 years of age.
