Served in the Great War.

Hubert John Clements was born on 16th October 1896 at Beckford. Gloucestershire. He enlisted in the Royal Naval Air Service as an Aircraftsman 2nd Class on the 16th August 1916 when he was described as 5 feet 10½ inches tall with brown hair, grey eyes and a fresh complexion. Before enlisting he was employed as a Butler. He was transferred to R.A.F. Reserve on the 27th February 1919.
