The birth of Albert Clark is registered in The December Quarter 1892 under the Bromsgrove Registration District.
Albert Clark was born in Bromsgrove and lived with his parents, William and Eliza Clark in Church Road, Sidemoor. William was a shoemaker, who worked at home and Eliza was a nailmaker, also working at home but by 1911 she had become a boot machinist in a factory. Albert was the youngest of 5 children. The eldest was Clara, who became a boot machinist too; Martha was a domestic servant; Leonard was a builder’s labourer; Samuel was a grocer’s porter and Albert, aged 18 in 1911, was a house carpenter.
Albert enlisted in the Worcestershire Regiment (27306) but later became a Pioneer (129244) in the Corps of Royal Engineers. He was killed in action on the Western Front on 5th November 1916.
