Further Information About CARBUTT Edward Goddard
Edward Carbutt was born in 1871 at Hampstead, London.
Siblings: Annie Power Carbutt, 1858-1942; Francis Carbutt, 1864-1923: Selina Carbutt, 1868-1957: Louisa Carbutt.
He entered the Royal Artillery in July 1891 and was made Lieutenant in July 1894.
“He was killed in action at Kimberly February 14-16, 1900,” is all that I can find on Lt. Carbutt’s death. The Royal Horse Artillery were in action, shelling the Boer position at Klip Drift on the Modder River on 15th February.
Commander of this Boer Force Piet Cronje surrendered to the British on 21st February, 1900.
