Albert Butler was baptised on 12th September 1897 in Ombersley, his father was a labourer living in Hadfield.  His parents were married on 8th July 1883 in Ombersley Church:
John Butler, age 38, bachelor, labourer, father Henry Butler, labourer
Clara Jane Robinson, age 26, spinster, father Thomas Robinson, labourer. Witnessed by Phillip and Fanny Armstrong.

Albert had two half siblings, Annie Pitt Robinson baptised in Ombersley on 18th July 1876 and Ellen Robinson baptised on 20th October 1880 in Ombersley.  He also had 3 full siblings, George Butler, birth registered in the December Quarter 1890, John Butler, born May 1893 and Jane Butler, birth registered in the March Quarter 1895.  Jane married Thomas M. Cox in Ombersley during the March Quarter 1918, her death is registered in the December Quarter 1920 under the Droitwich Registration District.

On the 1901 Census Albert, aged 3, is living in Oldfield Lane, his father John is a labourer.

On the 1911 Census Albert aged 13 is at school and the family still live in Oldfield Lane, his father John is employed as a Wood Cutter.
