Sidney Brook(e)s, Private, Ox and Bucks Light Infantry, is included in a list of those serving, Kidderminster Times 2nd January 1915.

Sidney lived all his life in Stourport and was a member of the bible class and an assistant scoutmaster. In civilian life he was employed at Messrs. T.B. Worth and Sons. He joined the army at the beginning of the war and had been in France for fifteen months at the time of his death. A member of the regimental branch of the Church of England Men’s Society: €œHe was such a good fellow in the best and highest sense€.

Writing to friends in Stourport, Private Cornelius Knight, Ox and bucks Light Infantry wrote: €œCame through all right, but chum Private Sid Brooks, Sion Gardens, killed by shell€.
