Further Information About BRANT John William
A photograph of Corporal J.W. Brant, son of Mr and Mrs W. Brant, Wylds Lane, Worcester, can be found in Berrow’s Worcester Journal Supplement, Saturday 18th November 1916, available at Worcestershire Archives. The supplement has 5 photographs relating to sons and sons-in-law of Mr and Mrs W. Brant, one being Private J.F. Brant, killed. There is no record of a J.F. Brant on Soldiers Died in the Great War or Commonwealth War Graves Commission. However, a James Francis Brant, born c1883 appears on the 1911 census in Worcester as the son of William and Mary Jane Brant. It is possible that he was believed killed but was later found to have survived or there is an error in the casualty records or the newspaper report.
John Brant has no known grave, the photograph available shows his name on Tyne Cot Memorial.
