Further Information About BRAMPTON Charles Clifford

C. Brampton, Abbot’s Croft, appears on a list of parishioners from the Parish of Wolverley who are serving in one of the National Forces, Regular or Auxiliary – Berrow’s Worcester Journal 10th October 1914.

Mr. F.W. Brampton, “Abbotscroft”, Lion Hill, Kidderminster and of the Steel Stampings Company Ltd. Cookley has four sons in the forces. Private G.S. Brampton is with the Mounted Ambulance in Egypt. Private F.M. Brampton joined the K.S.L.I. In a desperate charge in September last year he lost his left eye and was wounded in the arm and leg. He went out to France again and made the supreme sacrifice on 9th October. Private C. Clifford Brampton, R.W.R. has been posted missing since 25th September. The fourth son, H.L. Brampton is a cadet at St. John’s College, Oxford and expects to get his commission in February. A later report states that the youngest son Lt. Harry Brampton was killed in June 1917.
