Harold Bowen appears on Sand Hutton Memorial, Yorkshire as Morgan Bowen although there appears to be no clear link with the area for him or his family. It is possible that he served as Batman to an Officer from Sand Hutton, possibly Sir Robert James Milo Walker, 4th Baronet of Sand Hutton, who was Adjutant for the 21st Battalion Royal Fusiliers.

Harold was born at Upper Bentley, the son of John and Emma Bowen, Rose Cottage, Upper Bentley. He had previously served with the 21st (Public Schools) Battalion of the Royal Fusiliers. He died of bronchitis in the 2nd Northern General Hospital at Leeds.
