Additional information on the memorial: Second- Lieut.
Francis Birch attended Bromsgrove School from 1914 to 1917. As well as being a School Monitor he played in the school rugby team (XV). He went to India after leaving Sandhurst. Whilst in command of supports 20th January 1920 he went up to the firing line to see if he could be of assistance and was killed when returning from the line.
