Cyril Baylis attended Redditch County High School from 1934 to 1938. 0n 1st November, 1944, 220 Lancasters, of which 20 came from 106 Squadron, attacked Homburg, in the Ruhr in daylight. Over the target, one plane fell away after being hit by anti-aircraft fire; its bombs were dropped from a lower level and then it crashed near Steenbergen, Holland, killing all the crew.
