Further Information About BARRETT Joseph John

The following information is courtesy and copyright of Joseph’s granddaughter, Linda Powell:
Joseph John Barrett was my Grandfather. My Dad, Denis John Barrett, was born on 25th June 1917 in Stoke Works. My grandmother lived with the Barretts in Stoke Works while Joseph was fighting in the War. Sometime after his death she married William Gordon and had 3 more children.

My Dad was Joseph’s only child. I do not know if Joseph ever saw his son before he died. Dad took me to Stoke Works when I was little. I remember meeting my great grandmother when I was about five. Joseph’s father was a very well-respected man at Stoke Works and there was quite a lot written about him in the local parish magazine when he died.
