The following report appears in the Upton on Severn News, 12th January 1918:
Mrs Baldwin, of the Roses, Hanley Swan, has received the sad information that her son, Pte. Frederick James Baldwin, of the Worcester Regiment, was killed in action, by machine gun fire, in France, on December 26th. Deceased, who prior to joining up, was in the employ of Capt. Dawe, of Tyre Hill House, was wounded about 16 months ago. He was formerly in the Territorials, and was 24 years of age.
