O.B.E. Air Commodore (1.1934-1936)
Clive Baker was born on the 7th October 1919 in Worcestershire (birth registered in the December Quarter 1919 under the Upton Registration District, mother’s maiden name: Kelling-Scott.) He attended Malvern College from January 1934 to 1936, commencing his elementary flying training on the 29th November 1937. Once his training was complete he joined 23 Sqaudron at Wittering on the 17th September 1938. At the outbreak of war his squadron was deployed as fighter escorts for North Sea shipping. In April 1940 the squadron switched to night fighting. After serving throughout WW2, including during the Battle of Britain, he retired from the RAF as an Air Commodore on the 31st July 1971. Clive Baker died on the 30th July 2005.
