Further Information About ATTWOOD John

According to John Attwood’s medal index card he arrived in Gallipoli on 25th April 1915 and died of wounds later that same day.  He was awarded the Victory Medal, the British War Medal and the 1915 Star.

John Attwood was employed on the London and North Western Railway as a Checker in the Goods Department at Curzon Street Station.  His death was reported in the London and North Western Railway Gazette, Volume 4, July 1915, page 212. Listed in the London and North Western Railwaymen Roll of Honour Book with the additional information: Private.
