Further Information About ARCHER Charles

Charles Archer enlisted in the Worcestershire Regiment on 24th March 1916 at Worcester. At the time of his enlistment he was resident at Boat Lay, Grimley, Worcestershire. He gave his age as 38 years 6 months and his occupation as a labourer. He was unmarried and his next of kin was given as his sister, Caroline Allard of Stone Cottage, Colwall Park, Great Malvern. Charles embarked at Southampton to join the British Expeditionary Force on 30th August 1916, arriving in Rouen, France on 31st August 1916 and joining his unit on 10th September 1916. He was killed in action 3 months later.

Malvern Gazette, 20th January 1917:
Pte C. Archer, Worcestershire Regiment, of Malvern, is reported killed.
