Identified from the Post Office Books of Remembrance held at Dumbleton Hall: H.B. Allen, Sheffield, Northumberland Fusiliers.

The inscription on the war memorial reads:
THIS GARDEN OF REMEMBRANCE IS DEDICATED TO
THOSE MEMBERS OF THE POST OFFICE WHO GAVE THEIR LIVES
IN THE TWO WORLD WARS AND IN SPECIAL MEMORY OF

OPENED ON 18TH JUNE 2001 TO CELEBRATE THE 50TH ANNIVERSARY OF
THE FOUNDING OF THE POST OFFICE FELLOWSHIP OF REMEMBRANCE

Although the main inscription on the memorial states the casualties were members of the Post Office, the names inscribed were put forward by relatives of the casualties who made a donation to the memorial for that specific purpose. The casualty names may therefore be relatives of the subscribers, who themselves were former employees of the post office, rather than the actual casualties themselves.
