The following information was obtained from documents held at Worcestershire Archives:
Private. Joined Territorials 2nd/8th Battalion Worcesters in September 1914, served 2 years and 3 months in France. Fought at the Battle of the Somme 1916, Arras 1917, 3rd Battle of Ypres 1917 and Cambrai 1917. Relieved the French at St ??? January 1918, wounded 27/3/1918 – one finger blown off by a bullet.
