The birth of Dick W.M. Allen is registered in the December Quarter 1917 under the Woolwich Registration District, mother’s maiden name: Bullworthy. Upon entering Kings School his name was recorded as Richd Wm Marsh Allen; he appears on the memorial as R.W.M. Allen.

Richard William Marsh Allen was born on 16th October 1917.  He entered Form L4 in January 1932 and was a King’s scholar under Castle House.  At the time of his admission to the school his parent is recorded as R.M.A., 26 Wrottesley Rd, Plumstead, S.E. 18.  David was previously educated at Cherry Orchard, Charlton.  He left Kings School from Form M6 in December 1935. (Killed on active service.)
