John Adams was born in 1911. He attended Malvern College in House 7 from 1925 to 1926.

HMS Stella Capella was Southeast of Iceland enroute to Stornaway when she was hit by a torpedo fired from U-701. The ship sank in 2 minutes 30 seconds with the loss of all 33 men onboard.
