Further Information About PAGETT Isabella

Isabella Maughan was born in Bellingham, Northumberland and baptised on 13th January 1866, the daughter of William and Jane Maughan. She married Arthur Robert Patchett in the September Quarter 1893 in the Hexham, Northumberland Registration District. The couple had two sons, Frederick Edward Patchett born in 1894 and William Henry Patchett born in 1899. In 1901 the family resided at Halton, Northumberland under the surname Patchett. However, by 1911 Arthur completes his census return using the surname Pagett and obviously continues using the surname as his death is recorded as Arthur R. Pagett in Northumberland in 1948.

Isabella joined the British Red Cross as a nurse in 1914 using the surname Pagett. She worked at the 4th Northumberland VA Hospital at Dilston Hall, Corbridge, Northumberland. She died of pneumonia contracted on duty on 2nd May 1917.
