Bertram Francis Hughes, boarder, age 20, railway porter, born Wolverhampton

The following report appears in the Berrow’s Worcester Journal:
Mrs Hughes, of 41 Lowell Street, Arboretum, has received official intimation of the death from wounds received in action on the 22nd April of her husband, Lce-Corpl. B.F.Hughes (27). He was born and educated in Wolverhampton, and worked for about seven years at Shrub Hill Station, Worcester. He joined the Yeomanry in 1914, but was afterwards transferred to an infantry battalion of the Worcestershire Regiment, with which he went to France in September last.

Awarded the Victory and British War Medals.
