Further Information About WHITWORTH Anthony Thomas

Anthony Whitworth came from Wollescote and served in the Royal Army Service Corps.  He might have seen active war service and was probably part of the army of occupation in Austria.  This had been part of the Greater Germany under the Nazi regime and was now divided into zones by the occupying Allied Powers.  There was little post-war violence in Austria and the death of Private Anthony Whitworth was probably brought about by either accident or sickness.
