The birth of Albert R. Barnbrook is registered in the September Quarter 1912 under the Stourbridge Registration District, mother’s maiden name: Hill.  He married Lizzie Tonks in Stourbridge in 1933.

The following information has been researched by The Black Country Society:
Albert Barnbrook came from Wollescote and was married to Lizzie.  He enlisted in the Royal Artillery and was posted to the Far East.  He was probably stationed in Malaya or Singapore when the Japanese invasion occurred in December 1941.  When Singapore fell in February 1942, along with many thousands of Allied troops, he was made a prisoner of war.
