Harvey Staunton attended Bromsgrove School from 1883 to 1889 where he was a Head Monitor and Captain of the XV and XI teams. On leaving Bromsgrove he went to Selwyn College, Cambridge and took his degree in 1895. He was awarded his “Blue” for Rugby Football and he played regularly with the Notts County Cricket XI for some years. He was ordained in 1896 and in 1907 was appointed Rector of Upper Boughton, Melton Mowbray. From 1911 he was a chaplain in India. He died of pneumonia on active service in Mesopotamia.
